Tornado Warning

Well our tornado sirens went off so Phoebe and I went to sit in the bath tub. Not the kind of excitement I was expecting on Halloween lol. They spotted a tornado rotation down the road from our house.

Weekly Workout

Standard

Monday
5 Rounds                                               5 Rounds
1) 5 shoulder press.                             200 m run
2) 8 last lunge.                                       20 kbs
3) 1 min plank.                                      10 hr pushups
                                                                 40 mountain climbers
                                                                 30 sit ups

Wednesday
We did 6 min rounds

1) 8 sumo deadlift high pull
2) 8 jump squats

1) 8 push ups
2) 8 sit ups

1) burpees

1) 25 m down and back

I am proud to announce that I was finally able to do a jump squat!!!

Thursday
This was a partner workout that lasted 25 min
400 m run
10 thrusters
10 push ups

This one was rough but my partner and I completed about 4 Rounds.

Saturday
We warmed up by rowing/biking

We did a tabatta workout
8 Rounds of squats then we did 8 Rounds of various planks. We did forearm planks, 2 sets of push up planks, 4 sets of side planks, and a set of salute planks

The actual workout consisted of (3) 7 min rounds

1st

50, 40, 30, 20, 10

Double unders (if you did singles then you had to do 3 times as much)
Sit ups

2nd

20, 15, 9

Kbs
Thrusters
Burpees

3rd

10 cal on the rower
10 wall balls
10 hr push ups

Thursday’s Workout

Standard

I was originally going to post Thursday’s workout plus the Saturday workout but I didn’t end up going to the Saturday workout.

We did 4 rounds of:

  • tricep push ups
  • 20 sec plank

The partner workout consisted of:

  • 800 m run
  • 20 burpees
  • 20 front squats
  • 400 m run
  • 40 burps
  • 40 front squats
  • 200 m run
  • 60 burpees
  • 60 front squats

Then we did an ab workout, which consisted of 3 rounds of:

  • 20 atomic sit ups
  • 20 russian twist
  • 20 bicycle crunches

Getting Ready For Halloween!

Phoebe and I have been trying to get ready for Halloween but we still have a few things left to do. I still need to get Phoebe’s costume, get my cemetery decorations put up, get a pumpkin carved and get the rest of the candy.

I also went to Petco after Halloween shopping and picked up Phoebe some new treats.

This is the 1st time she has tried Zukes’s or Merrick and she seems to really like them both.

We also went to the Balloon Races last week but unfortunately the balloons were unable to fly due to it being to windy.

Phoebe’s Vet Visit

We got there pretty early so we waited awhile, which made Phoebe pretty antsy but she eventually settled down.

The vet technician came in and asked a few questions, which the only thing that changed is the food I give her. (Switched from Beneful to Science Diet Grain Free Salmon). I’m probably going to change her to Whole Earth Farms Grain Free Salmon & Whitefish because it scored a 4 on dogfoodadvisor.com. It is grain free, reasonably priced and they have some brands that don’t have any chicken in it (I think P may be allergic).
She went to pick up Phoebe to take her to get her vaccinations and Phoebe decided to climb up her shoulder and spazz out. She’s like Phoebe don’t scratch me I’m trying to be nice to you and carry you. She asked Phoebe if she wanted her to put her down and Phoebe finally calmed down so it was off to the back for them.

The vet said he didn’t see anything wrong that she is extremely healthy and her heart sounded really good. He also said her teeth are in really good shape for her age 🙂 proud pug mom right here! He did say she had some wax build up in her right ear so I should clean them every day for the next 5 days. He said she she was such a happy dog that he wished some of her happiness would rub off on him because she seemed happy about everything. I told him yeah except when it comes to getting her nails trimmed ha. He said all pugs feel that way about getting their nails trimmed not just her ha.

The vet technician came in to give me a copy of her paperwork and told me she really is a good dog! She sat through her vaccinations no problem and didn’t whine at all. I love that everyone at the vet’s office loves Phoebe just as much as I do! I definitely made the right choice in picking them to take care of my baby 🙂

Athletic Training Lately

Wow I’ve been slacking lately on my posting and writing down our workouts. I promise I will do better.

Workout 1

We did our usual 400 m warm up and stretching.

We did 20 split squats, 30 glute presses, 30 sec reverse plank ( coach called it a waterboard or something), 50 thrusters, 50 sit ups, 50 kettlebell swings and some line hops

Workout 2

5 Rounds

8-12 curl press and a 45 sec plank

4 Rounds

400 m run, 20 snatches, and 10 burpees

Workout 3

20 push ups, 20 lunges, 45 sec plank

We had a buy in of 20 burpees

20 shoulder press, 20 straight leg sit ups and the final cash in of 20 burpees.

Workout 4

5 front squats, 8 split squats, 10 step ups

400 m run or run for 2 min

15 sumo deadlift pull up and 10 thrusters

Workout 5

50 kbs, 50 push press, 50 lunges, 50 burpees, 50 sit ups, 50 push ups, 150 line hops. We had to run 200 m in between each movement and a final 400 m at the end

Workout 6

5 Rounds

5 front squat, 8 ring rows, 12 dips, 30 sec salute plank (these were so hard!)

5 Rounds

12 deadlift, 9 sumo deadlift high pull, 6 thruster

We had to do 3 burpees every 2 min during this round and we had to complete a 400 m run after the fifth round

Workout 7

We thought this was a partner workout only to find out that it wasn’t. I had a very hard time keeping my lunch down during this workout

400 m run warm up

800 m run, 100 kbs, 100 sit ups, 100 burpees, and another 800 m run!

Workout 8

10 lunges, 15 step ups, and a 45 sec plank

4 Rounds

20 air squats and a 50 m run

After this set we had to do 100 toe touches

4 Rounds

20 kbs and a 50 m run

Workout 9

5 push ups, 8 split squats, 10 ring row, 15 sit ups

800 m run

4 Rounds

10 snatches and 7 thrusters

Last but not least a 400 m run.

I’ve really been enjoying this class even though it is super rough sometimes. We workout with her boot camp class once a week and it’s funny because I was in their shoes 2 months ago. I’ve lost almost 17 lbs so far. I went home this past weekend and several people were like you have lost so much weight what are you doing? It always feels good when people notice that you’ve been working hard to lose weight 🙂

I will try to post about the workout tonight and about what Phoebe and I have been up to lately.
