We stopped at Arby’s for a late night snack and the pups were disappointed that they didn’t get anything….well Phoebe was anyways lol.
We witnessed a horrible wreck on I-10, which held us up for a while so we ended up stopping in Pensacola for the night.
We finally made it to Jacksonville!
We got checked in then brought a few bags and the pups to the room. We went to get the rest of the bags and Phoebe started barking…I was so worried that she was going to bark the whole time and I didn’t want to get kicked out or have anyone complain. After we got all the bags in the room I decided to take Phoebe for a short walk to tire her out as well as make sure she became familiar with the hotel so maybe she wouldn’t bark anymore when we left.
I took a few pictures, talked with a couple that had also pug, and found the poop bag station…which was a good thing since Phoebe embarrassed me by squatting on the walkway of the landing. We met 2 other pug owner’s during our stay and one of them worked at the hotel. Everyone <3’d Phoebe!!! Everytime I took her for a walk someone would stop us to wanting to pet her, tell me how cute she was and I even had 2 ladies ask if they could have her, which I politely told them no they could not ha.
We ended up eating in the hotel restaurant since it was convenient and we were all tired. We had the best waiter named Jayzer and he ended up waiting on us the next day as well.
The next morning Phoebe and I went for an early morning walk.
We discovered that there were several restaurants on the landing during our walk so we ended up eating at Benny’s Steak and Seafood. It was delicious!!! Keely and I ended up trying a local Hefeweizen called John Boat, which was good. We had another excellent waiter named Johnny. Will had chicken dish topped with crawfish and Keely had fried fish with fries…both were awesome!
We met a cool couple waiting for the water taxi to take us to the concert. It started pouring while we were on the way and we were told that they weren’t allowing anyone into the festival. We were told they were evacuating everyone from the festival due to a tornado warning and everyone should go underneath the overpass. Eventually we were let in but the vendors were not allowed to sell anything so we ended up finding a cab to take up back to the hotel, but not before I got my picture taken in front of a giant gator.
We were so disappointed because we missed several bands that we were looking forward to! We dried off and I took Phoebe for a walk after it cleared up.
Then it started storming again and most of the bands from 1-6 ended up being cancelled.
We ended up seeing the last 3 bands of the night that we wanted to see and I also ran into 3 people who I knew. After the show we couldn’t catch a cab so we ended up walking 2 miles back to the hotel.
Sunday was much better because it was sunny so we saw all the bands we wanted to see that day and we ate at a really cool Irish Pub called Fionn’s McCool.
We enjoyed a delicious but very overpriced breakfast buffet the next morning and then we were on our way home.
We missed going to Felix’s Fish Camp on the way to Jacksonville so we made a point to eat there on the way back and it was definitely worth the wait!!! I was torn between three options and ended up changing my mind completely at the last minute…..very happy that I did.
I had a Swamp Water which was yummy as well. Keely had a Tropical Storm while Will had a Moonshine Mojito and they split a seafood platter.
They had the cutest t-shirt so I had to get one!!!
Overall it was one of the best trips ever! Everyone was so friendly and we had good company. The food we ate was excellent as well as the service. Phoebe eventually got used to the hotel and didn’t bark unless I left the room while Keely and Will stayed there. The concert was amazing except for missing most of the shows Saturday and I will definitely buy V.I.P tickets again if only for the clean bathrooms lol.
