Weekend in Jackson

Friday morning I was ecstatic to see that one of my lilies that didn’t bloom last year had finally bloomed!

Phoebe and I left town later that day for a fun filled weekend at my best friend Keely and her husband Will’s house. Phoebe started the night off by stealing her cousin Pepper’s (Pomeranian) bone.

Will thought it looked like she had a cigar in her mouth ha.

Phoebe and I made some morning trips to the local Starbucks because I can’t live without my coffee and our hosts aren’t coffee drinkers. The baristas couldn’t get over how cute Phoebe is and Phoebe is an attention hog so it was a win win for both of us.

I got to catch up on some reading while enjoying my coffee. I finished “Masquerade” which is the 2nd book in Melissa De La Cruz’s Blue Blood Series. Basically it is about a group of New York families that are vampires descended from the Mayflower. They are born into new cycles every so often and must go through the process of recovering their memories from the last cycles.Click the link to find out more about the series.

Then I started reading “Dead In The Family” which is book 10 in the Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris. These are the books that HBO’s TrueBlood is based on in case you didn’t know. She is from Mississippi, which makes me even more excited to read this series. She has several other book series that I intend to read but since I’m already alternating between five other book series I will have to hold off for now.

Phoebe enjoyed spending time with her aunt, uncle and cousin….too bad Pepper didn’t share the same sentiment

Pepper was pretty excited to see me though

My brother and his friends had asked if they could stay at my place even though I was going to be out of town. When we returned home I found this

So Phoebe thought it would be a good idea to check the backyard

They left me money to cover the repair and some adult beverages in my fridge, which I appreciate but I was still extremely upset. It’s not about the money it’s about the principle that there shouldn’t be a hole in the wall after I was nice enough to let them stay there. I ended up meeting them before they left town to talk about it. I guess I should be thankful that Franklin (my turtle) survived and my house was still standing.

Phoebe was definitely worn out after all the excitement and she decided that I shouldn’t clean ha
